Women's #31 Rectora 1st letter
Greetings my Brothers & Sisters in Christ.
We serve an amazing and loving God. To say I am humbled by His call to serve as the Rectora for Women’s #31, does not seem enough. He will never leave me nor forsake me…He has been with me every step of the way, showing me and growing me. I know that He will equip me, this beautiful team that He has woven together, and the community members with whom He has all around us, with all we need to serve Him and bring honor to His name. The Lead Team is listed below. The remaining Team will be posted shortly.
As you know, it takes our whole community to make these weekends a success. God & I are counting on you all. I humbly ask the following from each of you, in His name:
1. PRAY - Pray without ceasing that the Team and I hear Him clearly. Also, start praying now about who you will sponsor to be blessed by attending the weekend. As mentioned at the Thanksgiving secuela, we will be limiting the number of candidates to 28 ladies. Cut-off for applications is 10 April 2025. This is a hard deadline. Any names received after this number, or this date are reached will be placed on a wait list for the next women’s weekend.
2. TIME – Volunteer your time, if you feel called, by contacting one of our Weekend Chair Committee members to help.
3. TALENT – Volunteer your talents when/if called by contacting one of our Weekend Chair Committee members.
And start thinking about palanca letters. There is nothing more precious than a handwritten notecard filled with your encouragement and love.
4. TREASURES – Offer what you can to sponsor those who may not be able to do it themselves. Also, offer what you can to supply some of the needs for the weekend.
I’d like to talk about sponsorship for a minute. Some of us have been around so long that I think this reminder is relevant. As a sponsor, you have certain obligations/responsibilities to your candidate. Start by praying about who God is calling you to sponsor.
PRE-WEEKEND: Be sure to talk to your prospective candidate and answer all her questions openly and honestly, without giving away all the fun surprises that you have experienced. Download the application from our website or call me and I’ll send you one. Assist your applicant in filling the application out. The more complete the better. Discuss the nonrefundable deposit and the candidate fee – or offer to pay it for them, if you choose. Also, see if your candidate’s family has any needs that you and/or community members can cover in her absence (driving errands, babysitting, meals, etc.). Submit your completed application to our Assistant Treasurer, Tanya Pickett, at your first opportunity. Once your application has been approved by the Rectora, start collecting palanca letters from the candidate’s family/friends and write one yourself. On Thursday of the weekend, plan on picking up your candidate and getting her to the Camp at 6:45pm so that we can start on time at 7pm. Please make sure that your candidate has dinner before arriving at Camp Burton. As you know, no meal is served at the opening or before the beginning of the weekend.
DURING THE WEEKEND: Keep praying! And serving in any way that you can.
POST-WEEKEND: Attend the closing on Sunday & invite the candidate’s family. Please make sure your candidate has a way home. Call your new Pescador within the first week and let them do the talking about their weekend. Help her find a reunion group. Bring her to Secuelas. Make sure she is aware of future activities (Secuelas, Secretariates, etc.).
That’s all for now. If you have any questions for me, please reach out. I will be at all Secuelas, God willing, between now and the weekend.

RECTORA’S 2nd LETTER
My dear brothers & sisters in Christ.
The Christmas season is upon us now. Time to celebrate the birth of the One we love.
Just a little update on Women’s #31. The Team is almost complete. Just waiting for a few more confirmations. God is so good and so faithful to us all.
I hope to have a complete listing of team member names for W#31 shortly after the first of the year. The Lead Team, verse and visual are already posted.
It’s not too early to start praying about who you will be sponsoring and getting those palanca letters/cards going. As has been stated, the cut-off date for candidates is 10 April 2025. This will allow a full two weeks for palanca letters and cards for the candidates. We will post the candidates to the website as they become available. The word on the street is we some candidates being considered for sponsorship already. I am so excited to see who God sends.
Remember to reach out to our wonderful Weekend Chair Committee to offer your time, treasures and talents to support the weekend. Heidi & Dave and Francine & Gilbert are already busy at work and ready for your calls. Sign-up sheets will be available at the secuelas. Our next secuelas are being scheduled, so watch the top of the website for those dates and places. Most of the secuelas are the first Saturday of each month, however, keep your eyes on those dates as some have to change due to availability of venues.
We (the Team & I) pray to see you all at the secuelas in the months ahead. Your support of prayer and encouragement by participating in the secuelas means the world to us all.
Please keep praying for the Team and candidates. Pray that God will protect us all and keep us healthy up to and through the weekend.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you all!
May God surround you with His love & peace,
Lisa
RECTORA’S LETTER #3 - HAPPY NEW YEAR!
My dear brothers & sisters in Christ.
I hope you all enjoyed your Christmas and New Year’s celebrations with your families & loved ones. And hopefully you enjoyed a little time off from your normal schedules to relax and reflect on the past year. What a year it was.
Things are moving along nicely with the Team. I meet with the Assistant Rectoras and the Chief & Assistant Chief Auxes next week and the Lead Team has its first meeting on the 19th. God is moving & grooving!
Next month we start our full team meetings. The first one is on 9 February 2025. We have 3 in February, and 3 in March. The last one is in April. With this team being a lovely blend of participants from north, south, east and west, we’ve decided to move our meetings around. We will have meetings at five different churches instead of just one. Your prayers for our safe travels & good weather are requested and cherished.
Did you have a chance to pray about who you will sponsor for the weekend? It’s not too early to start getting applications filled out and turned into our Assistant Treasurer, Tanya Pickett. The application is located on the website. If you can’t find it or print it off, no worries - I will have copies with me at the next secuela, which will be on 11 January 2025, at Elizabeth Baptist Church, 6:00-7:30PM. The Team and I hope to see you there.
I’d like to pose a challenge for you all. I would love to meet at least 3 ladies from each of our participating churches on the weekend as candidates. North, south, east and west!
Don’t forget to reach out to our wonderful Weekend Chair Committee to offer your time, treasures and talents to support the weekend. Heidi & Dave and Francine & Gilbert are already busy at work and waiting for your calls. Sign-up sheets will be available at all of the secuelas between now and the weekend. We need the whole community to pitch in and be the hands & feet of Jesus.
Lastly, I am so thrilled to tell you the rest of God’s Team for Women’s #31 is now posted below. Please pray that God would keep a hedge of protection around each of these beautiful ladies, that I am so honored to serve with. Pray that the Rollistas will hear God’s Word loud and clear as they write their rollos.
