Tres Dias Cleveland May 2011 President’s Letter
“Mother, may I”? One of my English teachers used this phrase to explain when to use the word may in place of the word can. As I was taught, the word can is used to state being able to do something and the word may is used to grant permission or state a willingness to do something. So, here we are in the month of May with many things that can be done if we are willing.
On May 12-15 the Women’s #20 Weekend will be held. This Weekend offers us an opportunity to serve others as we have been served on our Weekends. Please prayerfully consider how you can help and be willing to serve as needed. Also, please keep the Team, the Candidates and their families in your prayers as they approach and complete this Weekend.
In April, $2513 was raised for the Pay It Forward fund to provide scholarships for candidates on future TDC Weekends. I want to thank the Team and Candidates from Men’s 19 for putting on the Pay It Forward dinner on April 16th at Christ Presbyterian Church. Many thanks also to CPC for hosting this event. If you were not able to attend, you can still make a PIF contribution. Instructions for how to do so are listed elsewhere in this TD Blast.
I’m sure May will be a special month for our community since it is a “Weekend Month”. Weekends bring many opportunities to be a blessing and to be blessed. As often happens in life, it’s about being able and willing. My prayer is that we may be both.
